Dude! My work computer doesn’t like loading the page properly, but from the fuzzy photos it looks like a nice one. 4.0l is the one to get, more low-down torque to shift the thing around and only 1mpg worse off.

How much are they wanting for it?

Places to look for rust are on the bottom of the front wings (mine’s gone there), the bottom corners of the rear window and on the leading edge of the bonnet/trailing edge of the boot.

Rear looks a little low. If it’s just sagging springs then they’re an easy replacement on the rear (front not so much, need a special tool or enough bravery to try and take off angled springs with a standard spring compressor). If it’s got the self-levelling rear suspension then avoid. Jag themselves stopped trying to fix it and just decided to offer people conversion kits to the standard rear suspension setup.

It’s also coming up to a timing chain/water pump change at 120k, but that shouldn’t be too much and is probably not too tricky for the home mechanic.

I vote go for it, for the right price. I was genuinely surprised how capable mine feels, and just how special you feel driving it. Really balanced chassis too :)
